DEET-free bug protection: what parents should know
DEET-free mosquito stickers are a low-mess scent option for ordinary outdoor time. They are not the strongest tool for every place or every mosquito risk.
What scent stickers do
Citronella and related plant scents create a localized scent zone near clothing. Placement near ankles and shoulders matters more than decorating one distant spot.
Know the limits
For travel or areas with mosquito-borne disease, follow local public-health guidance and use a registered repellent when recommended. A scent sticker can be layered with that plan, not substituted for it.
Practical use
Apply stickers to clothing, not skin. Long sleeves, screens and removing standing water remain useful basics.
